Lava off a magby's back

A few weeks ago I was accepted to be part of the Mexican pokedex Johto Edition.
I was really hoping to get Ampharos or Espeon but it was a random thing, I ended up with silly ol' magby.
Had lots of fun coloring this little guy even if I didn't have much time because of work  and life.
Anyways, here's my progress, hope you like it :)

Mermaid process

I had the urge to do a full illustration of a mermaid for a while now, so I did.
I started doing silhouettes, chose the one I liked the most and pushed it a little bit, colored the back ground with plane colors and then added the detail, same goes for the mermaid. I was constantly checking the values.
I also searched for tons of reference. I know it could have been better but I just wanted to move on so bad.
Wish I had added more detail to the lion fish.
Even though that I really liked the final result :)

For the new episode I have to use a different style for the backgrounds.
a more "traditional" kind of look, like colored pencils
Will upload all of the backgrounds together when I finish them, I'm so glad to be able to work in ps again

My new job

Morning coffee

So I'm really happy to announce I got a part time job as a background artist in Darkar Company studios :)
So I've been a little busier than I usually am, I took a incredibly long time finishing this one D:
I was almost done and then spring break happened, and you know how it is spending awesome time with your family and stuff :)

I feel like I worked for too long in this one and kind of got sick of it D:
and then I wouldn't draw other stuff because I felt guilty for not finishing this one <,<
I'm glad it's all over now xD
I used the glazing method again I need so much more practice, with backgrounds, and well pretty much everything
